Evaluating and Calculating "Five-Nines"

Abstract:

Over the past few years, "five-nines" reliability/availability has become a major issue in evaluating whether to move to new technologies. In particular, this is a point that is often raised concerning the readiness of VoIP for immediate deployment.

This tutorial is designed to explain what "five-nines" really means and to provide the viewer with an understanding of how to evaluate and calculate whether a given network actually provides an appropriate level of reliability.
