Employees recognize employers who invest in communications capabilities to improve their work-to-life balance.

Webtorials recently conducted a survey on communications technologies and its impact on workplace productivity. One of our questions was if employees recognized their employer for investing in communication tools to improve their work-to-life balance - or not.

In our era of 24/7 connectivity, this discovery surprised us as it is relatively simple for companies to provide their workforce with a combination of communications tools to ease their 'always on' expected availability.
Responding to email and traditional phone calls can be time-consuming for some employees who would prefer to keep on top of company communications through a combination of traditional telephony and email combined with contemporary mobile technologies. This includes applications including SMS, chat, IM and video.

The chart below provides the exact percentages of employees who recognized that their company has, or has not - invested in a portfolio of communications tools to improve their work-to-life balance.

Clearly, investment in technologies that allow access to multiple communications modes from a single platform is greatly appreciated.
