The 2015 Guide to SDN & NFV

  • Part 3: The SDN and NFV Ecosystem
  • Jim Metzler, Ashton Metzler & Associates
  • Distinguished Research Fellow and Co-Founder
  • Webtorials Analyst Division

Over the last couple of years, the hottest topics in networking have been Software Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV). While both enterprises and service providers have shown great interest in these topics, the vast majority or organizations are still either on the sidelines or in the analysis stage of adoption. The primary goals of The 2015 Guide to SDN & NFV (The Guide) are to eliminate the confusion that surrounds SDN and NFV and to accelerate the analysis and potential adoption of these new design and architectural approaches.

The Guide will be published in its entirety and in a serial fashion. The first document in this series focused on SDN and the second document focused on NFV. This is the third document in the series and it will focus on the combined SDN and NFV ecosystem. The fourth publication will include a complete copy of The Guide as well as an executive summary.
